Produce Depot Accessibility Plan
Produce Depot is committed to fulfilling our requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). This accessibility plan outlines the steps Produce Depot is taking to meet those requirements and to improve opportunities for people with disabilities. Our plan shows how Produce Depot will play its role in making Ontario an accessible province for all Ontarians.
Accessibility Policy
Customer Service
Produce Depot is committed to providing accessible customer service to people with disabilities. This means that we will provide goods and services to people with disabilities with the same high quality and timeliness as others.
- All staff to be trained on Produce Depot accessibility plan
- Access to the premises will be accessible to persons with disabilities. This includes removing existing barriers when identified, where possible.
Information and Communications
Produce Depot is committed to making our information and communications accessible to people with disabilities.
- Accessibility plan available upon request, and to be made available in accessible formats if required
- Notice of the accessibility plan availability will be posted in a conspicuous location
- Accessibility plan will be posted and maintained on the Produce Depot website (producedepot.ca)
- A feedback mechanism will allow for concerns or comments concerning the current policy and plan to be submitted
Employment
- The recruitment and hiring processes of Produce Depot will ensure all hiring practices take into consideration accessibility for persons with disabilities
- Produce Depot will provide accessible training to any employees requiring accommodation
- Produce Depot will ensure the work environment remains respectful and supportive of any person with a disability
Training
Produce Depot is committed to providing training in the requirements of Ontario’s accessibility laws and the Ontario Human Rights Code as it applies to people
with disabilities.
- AODA training provided to all employees. This training will provide awareness about the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and the Produce Depot accessibility plan.
Here is a summary of the accessibility initiatives that Produce Depot has completed to ensure accessibility to persons with disabilities
Customer Service
- All staff trained before first shift about the AODA and how Produce Depot will provide this service
- Ensuring all entrances and exits are accessible for persons with disabilities
- Health & Safety Evacuation Plan encompasses needs of persons with disabilities in case of an emergency
Information and Communications
- Accessibility Plan and Policy available upon request
- Feedback mechanism established allowing for feedback to management with any concerns or comments about the Accessibility Plan or Policy
Employment
- All hiring processes will provide accommodation for persons with disabilities
- The availability of this accommodation will be communicated to individuals before and during the hiring process
- Employees who are hired by Produce Depot will be provided accommodation as per the AODA throughout the training period and during their entire employment at Produce Depot
Produce Depot will ensure they remain accessible with the following tools:
- Using feedback about the current plan to make changes improving accessibility
- Pro-actively identifying barriers to accessibility and enabling measures to ensure these barriers are removed where possible
- Ensuring that all accessibility standards are being met according to the AODA
